A microchip is a permanent method of electronic identification required by law in most states for dogs & cats (excl. SA & NT). You can't tell by looking at the pet if they in fact have a microchip or not as the small chip is implanted under the skin between the shoulder blades at the back of the animal's neck. Most vets, pounds, council rangers, local RSPCA centres and some pet businesses will have a microchip scanner and can determine if an animal is microchipped or not. The scanner reads the chip's unique ID number and is recorded on a database registry along with the animal's and owners details.
So why bother with an iD Tag?
The truth is, most forget to do this and if the owner isn't located within a given period of time then the animal is then usually rehomed or euthanised. |

We believe in & respect the values of Responsible Pet Ownership and acknowledge the vital work of our animal rescue groups. At a community level we engage with pet owners and industry groups to obtain and provide information on products & services pet owners are interested in and promote a positive outcome for their pet's.
Most pet owners will use a service or product recommendation from another pet owner and we're no different. As pet owners ourselves we too are customer's of the pet industry and have built a network of businesses offering a variety of pet services and products and support organisations doing great work in rescuing homeless animals. So whilst, we are not professional dog trainers, we know a couple of fantastic ones. Our services continue to evolve but are centered around natural nutrition and parasite control methods and are committed to deliver innovative ways for others to achieve this and reduce reliance on regular chemical treatments. Really its all about just helping owners and their pets with access to quality purposeful products, services and sources of reliable information. The goal is to achieve long term health & wellbeing for pets by providing opportunity for owners to be aware of all the options and therefore allows them to make informed choices. |
